Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani says Pakistan Peoples Party is pursuing the vision and philosophy of its great leaders for the cause of democracy and down trodden segments of the society. He was addressing a large gathering of leaders and workers of the PPP in London. The Prime Minister said certain people now part of politics‚ have absolutely no role in protecting the country or democracy. He said it was Benazir Bhutto Shaheed who despite the threats to her life remained determined to reach out to the people and even lost her life for sake of democracy. He said the credit goes to his party for restoring the 1973 constitution to its original form as it was created by the party founder of party Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto
