NEW YORK - A farmer in IHK has invented a “singing lantern” to spare himself the surprise of Indian military search operations at his house, according to US media reports from Srinagar.

The 48-year-old farmer, who recently participated at the innovators’ meet at University of Kashmir, said that the “singing lantern” has saved his life many times.
Over the last 20 years, Indian troops routinely burst unannounced into homes in search of activists seeking the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
