Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has said Pakistan will engage in secret tripartite talks together with the US and Afghanistan aimed at coordination on curbing terrorism. In an interview to an American news agency, she rejected the impression that Pakistan is ready to take action against Haqqani network. Foreign Minister Khar noted that the senior officials of the three governments have been directed to devise a strategy to enable mutual cooperation. She remarked that the important subject of the tripartite talks would be to determine that which extremist group of Afghanistan is ready to surrender for the establishment of peace in Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the White House has refrained to comment about the tripartite talks among Pakistan, the US and Afghanistan. However, senior US officials are hopeful about these talks. In another interview to a foreign television channel, Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar said the relationship between Pakistan and the US are, and would remain intact. She said the US has reservations regarding its national interest in relation to Pakistan. However, the intensity of the ‘Do more’ demand made by the US is lessening gradually, she observed. She noted elections in the US and Pakistan are approaching but the relationship between the two countries will not lessen.
