Tauqir Sadiq arrested by UAE police

The absconding  former OGRA Chairman, Tauqir Sadiq who is wanted for causing a massive 82 billion rupee loss to the national exchequer has been arrested in Abu Dhabi by local authorities.

According to police sources, Sadiq has been taken under arrest in Dubai, UAE by special team of the CID headed by Rana Shahid. The team comprises two senior police officials and one official from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Sources confirmed that Sadiq is currently under the custody of CID team, adding the accused would soon be handed over to the Pakistan’s consulate in Dubai.
Moreover, negotiations over his deportation to Pakistan are currently underway with Dubai officials, sources said.
It may be mentioned that the Supreme Court of Pakistan had issued orders for the arrest of Tauqir Sadiq. He is accused of misusing authority, embezzling funds and causing Rs82 billion losses to the national exchequer.
