A spate of attacks in a half-dozen areas across Baghdad killed at least 16 people on Thursday, security and medical officials said, marking the worst violence in the capital in weeks. In the deadliest attack, a car bomb struck the north Baghdad neighbourhood of Shuala, killing at least 13 people and wounding 32 others, two medical officials said. Separate bombings also struck Al-Amriyah, Ghazaliyah and Yarmuk in west Baghdad, and Dora and Saidiyah in the south of the capital, all Thursday morning, leaving three others dead and several more wounded, an interior ministry official and medical sources said.
