Pakistan, Korea vow to boost defence ties

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Korea after holding a meeting of Defence Industries and Logistic Joint Committee at the Ministry of Defence Production signed a future roadmap to strengthen relations on Thursday.

Additional Secretary Ministry Defence Production Major General Tariq Rashid Khan Kim Hul-Soo Director General Defence Promotion Bureau led the respective sides.
The minutes of the meeting were signed and a future path for further collaborations in the field of defence production was chalked out. The meeting discussed issues related to defence productions’ establishments of two countries through formal presentations and discussions. Areas related to military capacity building, defence industrial potential and regional security were comprehensively discussed with the Korean side.
Korea has provided assistance to Pakistan in various fields of defence production. Both sides have exhibited desire and will to continue engagements and endeavour to cooperate and assist each other in related fields of military cooperation.
During the two-day visit of the Korean delegation concluded on Thursday, the visiting Korean delegation stated said that Pakistan and Korea had great potential and the two countries could come together to collaborate in the field of defence production. Both the sides expressed satisfaction over the progressing ties between the two countries. The visit helped in gaining insight into the defence industry of Pakistan, they said.
