ISLAMABAD - Islamabad Police have arrested at least six people for swimming in Rawal Dam.
According to sources, the police charged the six arrested persons under section 144 as they have violated the ban, which was imposed by the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Amir Ali Ahmed. Under section 144 swimming and bathing in streams, rivers and dams have been banned.
It is pertinent to mention that every year around dozens of people drown to death while swimming in Rawal Dam.
