Kids worst sufferers of power crisis

RAWALPINDI – Children are the worst sufferers of the rising intensity of heat, coupled with menacing power cut offs.

With the rise in mercury, the power outage timing has been increased up to 12 hours, causing severe water crisis in Rawalpindi and its suburbs.
With this situation, the children are unable to get a full time sleep and have to battle intense heat at home as well as school. This leaves them feeling lethargic and unable to concentrate on their studies.
The prolonged outage not only affected the students who are appearing in Intermediate Part-1 examination but it also increased the miseries of patients, including high blood pressure patients, Sugar, heart and asthma patients.
Residents are without electricity for 10 to 12 hours in Cantt and other areas of the city while in the rural areas the situation is worse with power outages of up to 18 hours. Water supply has also been suspended to several areas as the problems being experienced by people continue to increase.
The citizens, traders, religious and political circle appealed the government to take emergency measure for the end of this unscheduled loadshedding in the city.
