Imran Khan to move SC against PM’s eligibility

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf  (PTI) decided to file a reference to the Supreme Court of Pakistan against Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani eligibility for premiership, PTI sources said Tuesday. The decision was  taken during the meeting of PTI Central Working Committee headed by Imran Khan. According to the sources, the PTI would file the reference regarding the qualification of the prime minister after his conviction and to seek SC direction on  whether Gilani could still remain a prime minister after being convicted. The meeting also decided that the party would hold a rally on Constitutional Avenue on May,6 to express solidarity with the apex court. The PTI also discussed Nawaz Sharif’s Monday remarks of contacting all the opposition parties including Imran Khan against the government. The sources told the News Tribe that, the PTI leaders were of the view that the PML-N should tender resignations from the national assembly first to take the PTI into confidence. The party leaders said that the Nawaz-league was not no more a reliable party as it betrayed the PTI and others on several occasions and backed off its stance on memogate scandal.
