Congratulating the Secretary Information and Broadcasting on his promotion as well appointment, the Prime Minister said that this was a challenging assignment and expressed the confidence that he would be able to project the achievements of the government.
The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to the freedom of press and directed Mr. Agha Nadeem to facilitate the private media and engage with them.
Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said that the media in Pakistan is passing through an evolutionary stage after having undergone suppression during the dictatorial regimes.
“Fast changing events demand a quick and professional response” said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister directed the Secretary Information to engage with the media so that government’s achievements and point of view is properly reflected.
Mr. Agha Nadeem thanked the Prime Minister for sparing time for the meeting and assured him that he will endeavour to implement the guidelines set out by the Prime Minister.
