Musharraf assets case: ATC disposes of Sehba’s plea

Rawalpindi’s Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) on Saturday disposed of an application filed by Sehba Musharraf, wife of former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, against the confiscation and freezing of her husband’s properties and bank accounts in the Benazir Bhutto murder case.

The petition was heard by ATC Judge Chaudhry Habibur Rehman.
With Sehba Musharraf’s lawyer, Ilyas Siddiqui, unable to present the record of proof of her income deposited in the couple’s joint bank accounts, the court declared its previous decision to seize the former ruler’s assets as rightful and disposed of the petition.
The ATC had declared Musharraf as absconder in August 2011 and had ordered his assets to be frozen when he did not appear in court despite receiving summons in the Benazir Bhutto murder case.
