The ICT Administration has been organising this free camp for the last nine years with the coordination of chemists, philanthropists and pharmaceutical companies who used to donate medicines for patients at the camp. The administration has claimed that so far, tens of thousands of allergy patients had been treated at the camp, which had been held in the allergy season.
The local administration claims that three types of treatments facilities are provided to the patients which include allopathic, homeopathic and tib-e-unani and all medicines are provided free of cost to the patients.
Known allergy experts including Dr Osman Yousaf, Dr Athar Rana, Dr Zaman, Hakeem Rizwan Hafeez and Dr. Nasir also provide their counselling services to the patients.
An official handout issued by Islamabad capital territory Administration (ICTA) says that District Health Department Islamabad, on the orders of Chief Commissioner Islamabad Tariq Mahmood Pirzada and Deputy Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed, has made special arrangements for providing maximum treatment facilities to the patients at the camp. Timings of the camp would be 9 am to 4 pm and it would remain open on Sundays during these timings. Drug Inspector Islamabad, Sardar Shabbir Ahmed is the co-coordinator of camp and special duties have been assigned to medical officers and paramedics of District Health Department at the camp that would continue till the end of pollen count in the air.
