ISLAMABAD – Electronic Government Directorate (EGD) plans to spend around Rs. 8.56 million this year to further implement e-services at Islamabad Capital Territory Administration Office.

At present, the organisation is operating partially electronically as applications for international driving license domicile certificate and route permits are fully functional at ICT administration, while the processes related to remaining modules are being performed manually.
According to Ministry of Information Technology here on Thursday, the successful implementation of project - Chief and Deputy Commissioners Office - would result in development of certain applications, which are common to all districts throughout the country and these may be replicated at other districts.
Under the project, provision of IT infrastructure, by furnishing LANs, hardware and simple electronic communications software for day-to-day office working, is ensured.
The IT equipments have helped improved delivery of services to citizens, streamline internal office communication and facilitate access and processing by the government officials.
The entire IT infrastructure is also being covered by proper security, including access control, authorisation, authentication, DoS protection and firewalls.
