Health, PTDC employees deprived of salaries

RAWALPINDI  - More than 100 employees of Health Department are deprived of salaries since the past four months, creating unrest amongst the employees.
It has been learnt that 152 sanitary petrol workers, inducted in the Rawalpindi Health Department on the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif for Dengue Programme, have not received a single penny for the last four months.
They were promised salaries in the month of Ramazan but now they are being told that they would get salaries after Eid. This situation has greatly perturbed the workers who are finding it hard to run their households in such a situation.
The workers have demanded of Chief Minister Punjab to look into the matter and issue orders for immediate dispersion of their salaries.
Meanwhile, the employees from Grade 1-16 of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) were protesting in the front of head office against the non-payment of salaries.
The General Secretary of the employees union, Waqar Ahmad said that Tourism Department has not paid salaries to the employees from Grad 1-16 for the last six months.
He said that employees protested against the non-payment in front of concerned department head office and the protest is continuing but Department of Tourism has not taken steps to solve the issue.
