Election schedule after 10 days: ECP Secretary

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Secretary Ishtiak Ahmed Wednesday said schedule of election-2013 would be issued after 10 days.

Talking to media persons here, Ishtiak Ahmed said only 10 days were left for the dissolution of the parliament, and added whatever is to be done has to be done within these 10 days.
He said a cell of SBP, FBR, Nadra and NAB representatives has been established in the ECP to ensure thorough scrutiny of the candidates.
He said the majority of the country wants implementation of articles 62 and 63 of the constitution for holding free, fair and transparent elections.
Responding to a question, the ECP secretary said that nomination paper draft has been sent to the Law Ministry after making few changes.
The ECP secretary said the Election Commission wants elections on time. He said making of laws is not the responsibility of the ECP, rather the Law Ministry was responsible for the same.
