ISLAMABAD – The ICT Administration here on Friday keeping in view of decrease in the petroleum and CNG prices issued a notification reducing the public transport fares on various traffic routes.
A spokesman of the administration said that the revised notification would be effective from July 6. According to revised reduced fares, CNG transport fares have been reduced by Rs 3 on the initial three stages and Rs 4 on the last three stages on all routes Similarly, diesel/petrol transport fares have been reduced by Rs 1 on the initial three stages and Rs 2 (reduced) on the last three stages.
Secretary, Islamabad Transport Authority, Khawja Maqbool Mustafa has also launched traffic checking drive in the city to ensure strict implementation of revised reduced fares in Islamabad. He has issued directions to the transporters to charge the reduced fixed fares from the commuters and display the revised reduced fares prominently in the vehicles failing which heavy fines would be imposed on the violators.
