RAWALPINDI – The strange policy of the Punjab Education Department has caused unease among arts teachers as induction of arts subject teachers have been stopped for last few years.
It was learnt that around 1,100 arts teachers’ posts are laying vacant in Rawalpindi district and Master in arts and M.Phil candidates are without jobs while science teachers were being inducted across the province and Rawalpindi. Sources said that induction on grade 9-16 was underway in Punjab but not arts subject vacancies.
Punjab SES teachers’ association Rawalpindi Chapter president Muhammad Shafiq Bhalwalia deplored the provincial government for not inducting arts teachers across Punjab and Rawalpindi from last few years. He said that 1,000 vacancies of the arts teachers were lying unfilled in the Rawalpindi which ultimately affects arts subjects in schools.
Muhammad Shafiq threatened to launch protest movement and complete educational boycott if induction of arts teachers was not started immediately.
