ISLAMABAD - Criticising the Opposition for not learning any lesson from the past mistakes, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that Opposition was bent upon rocking the boat of democracy but expressed the resolve that the PPP alongwith its coalition partners would frustrate their nefarious plan with the support of masses.He said that the Opposition has not learnt any lesson from the history and are repeating the same mistakes, both inside and outside the Parliament, which in the past had caused enormous damage to the democratic institutions.He was talking to a delegation of MNAs hailing from Rawalpindi and Multan Divisions who separately called on him at the Prime Minister House on Wednesday and assured him all support in strengthening the democratic order in the country.The Prime Minister said that Opposition was making itself a laughing stock in the eyes of the people, as they had no case to put forward in Parliament and therefore, had resorted to hooliganism which was the glaring negation of established Parliamentary practices.He thanked the MNAs for their support and said that they should mobilise public opinion in their respective constituencies in order to make the people aware of conspiracies against democracy and indeed against the people. The MNAs assured him that they firmly stood behind the PPP leadership and would not let the Opposition succeed in its plan to derail democracy.They said that PPP leaders and workers had rendered numerous sacrifices and suffered hardships of unimaginable magnitude during struggle for democracy.The members of the delegation included Raja Pervez Ashraf, Minister for Information and Technology, Farzana Raja, Chairperson of BISP, Mrs Rukhsana Bangash, Ms Mehreen Anwar Raja and Ms Fauzia Habib.The MNAs from Multan appreciated the decision of the PPP leadership not to disrupt the budget session in the Punjab Assembly.They maintained that democracy demanded maturity and sagacity from the elected representatives.The delegation included, Begum Nasim Chaudhry, MNA, Liaquat Ali Khan, MNA, Ch.
