Wardens directed to ensure smooth flow of traffic

RAWALPINDI - City Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Ishtiaq Hussain Shah has directed the traffic wardens to ensure smooth flow of traffic around major places, as traffic rush has increased manifold due to Eid shopping at all the bazaars.

The CTO expressed these views while addressing the ‘Darbar’ of traffic wardens held at Hassan Raza Complex here on Tuesday. On the occasion, DSP Traffic Headquarters Shahid Yusaf, others DSPs, Inspectors and a large number of wardens attended the Darbar.
While addressing, Syed Ishtiaq said that all departments of traffic force would be put on high alert to control the traffic rush and more security staff would be deployed at location that witness large crowds.
He said that the traffic police would intensify patrolling in all areas to prevent road accidents, especially in markets and bazaars.
“Ramzan-ul-Mubarak is a sacred month. These days are very important for us. Wardens must pay special attention during last ten days of Ramazan to avoid traffic mess on the roads and in the bazaars. There shouldn’t be any blame that wardens are not performing duties.
To attend the telephone calls during duty timings or standing in groups will not be tolerated” CTO added. He asked the wardens to behave politely with the road users adding that any complaint about misbehaving would not be tolerated.
He said that the wardens should impart their duty fairly well and their work would be signified. He said that he was striving hard to provide facilities to the wardens.
CTO Syed Ishtiaq Hussain Shah instructed all the DSPs and Inspectors to monitor the activities of the traffic wardens deployed at various points to control the traffic.
