ISLAMABAD - Deputy Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed has said that second phase of anti-dengue mosquito spray drive would start in the rural areas of capital from June 11 for which these areas had been divided into five zones including Bhara Kahu, Sihala, Tarlai, Shah Allah Ditta and Rawat.

According to details, Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of first phase of anti-dengue drive carried out in the rural areas of ICT from March 31 to April 17, this year, in a meeting held on Wednesday under his chairmanship.
In-charge, Dengue Control Cell of ICT Health Department Islamabad, Dr. Najeeb Durrani informed the participants that anti-mosquito spray at 224 specific areas was carried out during the first phase drive. He informed that first phase of anti mosquito drive also included those areas where positive cases of dengue were reported during the last year.
He further informed that community mobilization was also under way and as many as 70,000 pamphlets regarding preventive measures against dengue were distributed in the community and seminars on dengue control and prevention were also held at different rural health centers during the first phase of drive.
