RAWALPINDI – The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Rawalpindi on Wednesday held a protest demonstration to remind the Punjab government to provide service structure to the doctors as per directed by the Lahore High Court (LHC).
The protest demo, held outside the Rawalpindi Medical College (RMC) New Campus at Holy Family Hospital, was led by YDA HFH President Dr Waleed Abbasi and Joint Secretary Dr Junaid Abbasi while over 200 young doctors and medical students attended the rally.
The protestors were holding placards and banners mentioning words in favour of their demands and against the Punjab government for not obeying LHC orders which were simple “Provide the service structure to young doctors.”
They also chanted slogans against the officials of Punjab Health Department and the Chief Minister. The protestors also expressed their solidarity with the doctors, who were detained by the law enforcement agencies during the YDA Punjab strike and subjected to severe torture.
Addressing the protestors, the speakers condemned the delay being made on the part of PHD big wheels. They said that the Punjab government has been showing disrespect to the orders of LHC, which clearly observed that the doctors should be given the promised service structure. They said that they would continue their struggle till the fulfillment of their demands including the service structure.
A negative situation occurred when the HFH Administration barred the media men at the main gate from entering inside the hospital and to cover the protest of YDA.  YDA HFH President Dr Waleed Abbasi and Joint Secretary YDA Dr Junaid Abbasi vehemently denounced the rough attitude of HFH administration towards the media. They demanded of the government to take action against the MS HFH and his team for gagging media.
