February 09, 2013

RAWALPINDI – After Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) failed to present final challan against Makhdoom Shahab-ud-Din, Ali Musa Gilani and others involved in the ephedrine quota scam, the court has directed it to do so within a 10-day period. The ANF officials have already frozen assets of those involved in the case and presented the relevant report in the court. When the court questioned the investigation officer, it was told that the challan is in the last stages of completion so time should be given to them in this regard. At this, the court told the investigation officer that according to the rules and regulations, the challan has to be presented within 14 days, however, a period of two years has gone without presentation of the challan in the court. On request of the officer, the court gave him final chance to complete all the formalities with reference to the challan in ten days. The court adjourned the case till February 22.
