RAWALPINDI – Construction of five-storied building of Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE) has been completed and shifting of all board offices to the new building has been started.Chairman of the board, Dr Muhmmad Ashraf said that all offices of the board, now scattered throughout the city, would be shifted to the new complex till the end of February. He said that 10 percent shifting of the offices has been completed. He said that the new five-storied building has enough rooms and small and big halls. He said that entire record of the board has been computerized. He said that after shifting to the new building, the board would save Rs1.2 million monthly in account of rent.On the other hand, many board employees refused to move to the new building as water and gas could not be provided in the building yet. According to the employees, the board authorities paid Rs1 million for temporary electricity connection. They had earlier paid demand notice of Rs12.7 million but could not get electricity connection. Moreover, the employees said that water entered the basement of the new building in the recent rains. The basement is allotted to secrecy branch of the board, they said adding the rainwater could soak and damage record of the secrecy branch in the future. They said they would not shift to the new building till all such problems were not solved.
