RAWALPINDI - The boys outshined girls by bagging top three positions in Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examination results 2012 announced by Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE) here on Saturday.The overall first three positions in board and in groups were grabbed by the students of Cadet College Hassanabdal Pre-Medical Group: Khuwaja Hassan Akhter bearing roll number 703073 remained first with 1031 marks; Haider Ali (roll number 703100) got second position by scoring 1030 marks; while Hammad Ayaz (roll number 703101) stood third with 1026 marks.Among the girls students of Pre-Medical Group, Maleeha Saleem of Punjab College of Information Technology for Girls got first position by scoring 1020 marks while second position was shared between two students of the same college namely Arooj Zulfiqar and Tehreem Zahid by obtaining 1017 marks. However, Sara Hassan Jamil, the student of Oxford Public Girls Higher Secondary School Pindigheb, Attock, scored 1013 marks for owning 3rd position in HSSC annual exam 2012.The result was announced during a ceremony held at Government Postgraduate College for Women, 6th Road. Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab for Higher Education Zaheem Hussain Qadri was the chief guest on the occasion while Chairman RBISE Dr Muhammad Ashraf, Secretary, Controller Prof Hamayyun and other board high ups, position holder students and their parents were also present. According to available data, a total of 62744 were enrolled candidates out of them only 59718 appeared in HSSC annual examination 2012 among them 29996 were declared successful. The passing percentage was 50.22 per cent.Among the total 26648 male regular students appeared in the examination, the passing percentage was 44.14 whereas passing percentage among 36094 girls students was 53.01.In the Pre-Engineering Group Boys, Usman Tariq of Punjab College of Information Technology Rawalpindi got 1st position by obtaining 1010 marks while Muhammad Anwaar from Kalar Kahar Science College remained 2 nd with 1005 marks A student of Punjab College of Information Technology Rawalpindi Muhammad Abdullah stood third with 1004 marks. Punjab College of Information Technology Rawalpindi’s Iqra Noor bagged 1st position with 1018 marks in Pre Engineering Group Girls while Maha Sheikh of the same college obtained 980 marks for 2nd position and Sidra-tul-Muntaha of Government College for Women Chakwal clinched 3rd position by obtaining 979 marks.In Arts Group, Hafiz Safi Ullah, student of Paracha Jamia Islamia Injra Tehsil Jhand, got first position with 869 marks and Mazhar Hussain of Government Boys Higher Secondary School Adwal and Shahid Rafaqat of Jamia Qadria Warsia Gujarkhan shared the second position by obtaining 860 makrs. Iram Model Secondary School Kahuta’s Mian Abdul Azam Hassan stood on 3rd with 856 marks.Among girls, Rabia Akbar, student of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Bochal Kalan Chakwal, was declared 1st with 937 marks whereas Jamia Syeda Fatima-tul-Zahra Mokologo Post Office Chakwal’s student Hafiza Iram Hassan grabbed second position scoring 924 marks and Zoya Tufail of City Degree College Jhelum clinched 3rd position with 912 makrs. The top three positions in Commerce Group were grabbed by the students of Punjab College of Information Technology; Aswad Jamil 1st with 964 marks, Mazhar Mehmood 2nd scoring 936 marks and Mushahid Abbas 3rd obtaining 933 numbers.In Commerce Group, the same was done by the girl students of Punjab College of Information Technology Rawalpindi; Zartash Zahid 1st with 957 marks, Kainat Javed 2nd with 956 marks and Asma Sajjad 3rd scoring 952 marks. In General Science Group, among boys Zaheer Ahmed of Military College Jhelum Sirae Alamgir got first position by scoring 994 marks and Punjab College of Information Technology Rawalpindi’s Talha Kothari stood on 2nd with 953 marks while Military College Jhelum Sirae Alamgir’s Muhammad Shehryar Salim declared 3rd with 906 marks.In General Science Group, among girls the first three positions were grabbed by female students of Punjab College of Information Technology Rawalpindi; Wajiha Waheed 1st scoring 1004 marks, Zonaira Sitar 2nd with 978 and Salma Khatab bagged 3rd position by obtaining 962 marks. The chief guest and other board officials congratulated the position holder students and their parents.
