LPINDI (NNI)- Tundoor owners of Rawalpindi city have started cheating the masses in the name of cheap Roti and started selling 80 grams Roti instead of 100 gram at Rs 2.
This news agency in its survey observed that the Tandoor owners are clearly cheating the masses openly and fearlessly selling the 80 grams Roti instead of 100 gram. The Chief Minister of Punjab has started this sasti roti on selected tandoors for poor masses of the province and the government of Punjab was providing the tandoor owner flour on cheaper rate.
The people of the city have demanded of the concerned authorities to take notice of the situation as according to them the tandoor owners are selling the roti of substandard flour, besides less weight.
Blaming the tandoor owners of looting the public funds, the masses are of the view that if the government was providing sufficient subsidy to tandoor owner to provide 100 grams roti to the poor people, why they have started selling under-weight roti.
Irfan Ghani a resident of Marir Hassan area talking to NNI said that in the area 4 tandoors are providing sasti roti to masses but at all the four tandoors the roti was not up to the mark and it was being made of substandard flour. Mehsud Raja another resident of the area said that he was working in Gawalmandi area and same situation. They become bold and were not fearing of any accountability. He said that the tandoor owners ignored the understanding between the government and the Nanbai Association.
In this regard this news agency visited the other parts of the city and founded that on nearly 80 percent of the tanddors same practice was being made by the tandoor owners. In outskirts of the city situation is further worsened and on most of the sasta tandoors substandard and low-weight roti was being sold to the people.
Some people were of the view that the flour which the government was providing to tandoor owners at Rs 250 per bag in order to provide sasti roti to masses, the tandoor owners instead of making Sasti Roti were selling the flour to shopkeepers on high prices or cheating the masses while providing the low-weight roti.
The masses have demanded of the Rawalpindi District administration to take stern action against those tandoor owners who were selling roti of substandard flour and low-weight. The people have also demanded of the government to directly provide them subsidized flour and in this way the government will get rid of the tandoor owners blackmailing.
