RAWALPINDI - Some 400 under training Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI) of Police Training School (PTS), Mandra, Rawalpindi has been promoted to the next rank of Sub-Inspector (SI). Chairman Pakistan Aman Party, Haji Mohammad Gulzar Awan and Principal Police Training School, SSP Ashfaq Ahmed Khan, along with other police officers, pinned new rank badges on the shoulders of promoted police officials here in PTS Mandra on Tuesday in a simple ceremony. Addressing on this occasion, Haji Mohammad Gulzar Awan said police force was an important law enforcement agency, which was also responsible of safeguarding the people from criminal and anti social elements. “Today new methods and technologies have become an integral and necessary component of progressive law enforcement all over the world and our police force should also be trained in modern policing to enhance its service to the community,” he added.
He stressed upon the police officials that they should also learn Islamic code of conduct deeply and apply the same on to themselves. He asked them to focus their attention to seek the height of training to be able to serve their community members better. Gulzar further said the negligence in discharging official duties on their part might cost irreparable loss to the society so they should be active and energetic while they are on duty. In his address on this occasion, Principal PTS Mandra, SSP Ashfaq Ahmed Khan said with the changing trends of modern day policing, the PTS has expanded it training practices from the traditional methods to include the latest and required training facilities.
He also appreciated the active role of Haji M Gulzar Awan with regard to provision of different training facilities in PTS Mandra. DSP Academics, Aamir Khalil, DSP Headquarters, Khalid Jameel Paracha, Staff Officer to the SSP, Inspector Nadeem Malik and a large number of under training police officials were also present on the occasion.
