ISLAMABAD - Islamabad police on Sunday arrested a person and recovered huge cache of illegal weapons from his locked shop at Alipur Firash, a police spokesman said.

According to a press note issued from office of SSP Islamabad, a police team supervised by DSP Arshad Khokhar, SHO Shehazad town police station Fiaz Ranjha, Sub-Inspector Anees Akbar raided there and recovered huge cache of weapons including 27 guns of 12 bore, 14 rifles of 7 MM rifle, two 222 bore rifle, two Kalashnikov, one 44 bore rifle, 44 pistols of 30 bore, one 38 bore revolver, one 9 MM pistol, one 22 bore pistol and 9504 rounds.
Meanwhile on Sunday, a team of Ramana police station Islamabad busted three gangs of dacoits including Afghan nationals as well as housemaid and recovered weapons, stolen valuables as well as snatched items from their possession, a police spokesman said on Sunday.
The team succeeded to bust three gangs and nabbed a total of 10 criminals including Afghan nationals.
The gang members have been identified as Ghulam Shabbir, Zaheer, Naqash Ali, Zahid Hussain, Shamsul Rehman, Kareem Khan Afghani, Shumali Khan Afghani and housemaid Tasawur Khanam. Police recovered stolen valuables including laptop, gold ornaments, mobile phones and other electronic equipments from them. They have confessed their involvement in 15 various dacoity incidents in various areas of Islamabad.
Besides, Ramana police also arrested two proclaimed offender wanted to police for their alleged involvement in crime cases of heinous nature.
