People’s anger over power cuts could erupt as volcano: Fazlur Rehman

Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam (F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has warned that the people’s anger was increasing over energy crisis and it could any time erupt as volcano and destroy every thing including government and political system in the country. Talking to media at the Parliament House on Friday, the JUI (F) Chief said the government would have to get suggestions from experts and take revolutionary steps to over come the loadshedding.  He said the whole system has been adversely affected and the government was not coming to the aid of the people who are under going miseries.  He proposed that even if some some drastic measures are needed in the budget that should be taken to overcome the power crisis. Replying to a question about threat of new sanctions by the US, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said the US wants the same facilities as it enjoyed over the last ten years. He said the US wanted to create instability and weaken the region and Pakistan. He pointed out that despite its claim, the US has not given any assistance to Pakistan and the one committed was stopped under one pretext or the other.
