Checkposts on RCD, Bolan Highways to be removed

ISLAMABAD - The Coast Guards and FC will not establish any check post on the RCD Highway and Bolan Highway in Balochistan and all such post established already would be removed immediately.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the Committee on Implementation of Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan Package held at the Cabinet Division with Rehman Malik in the chair. The committee reviewed as well as evaluated the progress on the implementation process where all stakeholders were present including three federal ministers from Balochistan.
The Interior Minister directed Provincial Police Officer (PPO) Balochistan to constitute a force that would patrol in the federal areas located in the Balochistan. The police should conduct a special patrolling on the highways in Balochistan, it was also decided in the meeting. He also passed strict orders to check cattle smuggling immediately and in this regard FC and other related agencies should be sensitized. The committee directed that all ministries should release the annual funds for the projects of the Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan Package (AGHBP) to the Balochistan government and should monitor the projects through their officers. The minister also ordered the Information Secretary for making documentary on AGHBP, giving all details regarding various projects. He recommended the representatives of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources to direct the private companies to provide funds for welfare projects like school, roads, hospital etc.
Malik appreciated the flow of funds from the federal government for the projects of Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan Package (AGHBP). The next meeting of implementation committee AGHBP) will be held in Quetta.
