Students display artwork at RAC

RAWALPINDI - Handmade jewellery, decorative artwork, flowers arrangements and summer clothes were put on display in a two-day exhibition opened at Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) here on Wednesday.
PML-N Senator Begum Najma Hameed along with former Resident Director RAC Naheed Manzoor inaugurated the exhibition. On the occasion, RAC RD Waqar Ahmed was also present. Of the 26 stalls, those featuring gem and fabric jewellery attracted most visitors on the first day.
The students of interior decoration, handmade jewellery, flower making, candle making and fashion designing class displayed their work at the exhibition.
After inauguration ceremony, Senator Najma Hameed said that RAC has imparted training to its students in such a practical way that they are able to contribute in-home industry and can earn their livelihood honestly and respectively.
She said that RAC role in development of art and culture could not be falsified.
She further added that the students have full command over their work.
Speaking on the occasion, former RD Naheed Manzoor said that the Council always stressed on practical work and lessoned to the students of morality along with formal education. Vessels, frames, embossed file work, jute work, wall hanging, flowers arrangements, partition screen work, stainless glass, lamps, purses, jewellery boxes, candles, and dresses of all kinds were put on display at the exhibition which would conclude today (Thursday).
