Juvenile drivers a danger: CTO

RAWALPINDI– Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Ishtiaq Shah said that history tells that rash driving leads to a number of fatal accidents.
He said that cautious and careful driving is in the best interest of the road users.
The CTO said this while talking about the traffic rules and road safety at Traffic Head quarter here on Thursday. He said citizens should follow the traffic rules as mostly accidents occurred due carelessness and over-speeding. He said juvenile drivers are not aware of traffic rules, adding that they not only put their own lives in danger but also of others. He urged the parents to keep an eye on their children and not allow them to under take such ventures.
During 2011, city traffic police took a strict action against the juvenile drivers and issued 2,041 challan tickets besides impounding 641 vehicles due to lack of documentation in relevant police stations. The Police fined amounting Rs 469,400 to the violators.
