RAWALPINDI - Dacoits have a field day in Rawalpindi division on Tuesday as auto-theft gangs and armed robbers deprived citizens of 4 cars, 4 motorcycles, cash in thousands of rupees, 9 mobile phones and laptops in various localities.
According to details, a Suzuki pickup (LXL-2523) of Umer Hayyat was lifted by unknown carjackers from the precinct of Police Station Sadiqabad; GLI corolla car bearing registration number RB-562 owned by Dr Asad Shafique and Fazal Elahi’s car number RIZ-6203 have been pilfered from Banni police station areas and the vehicle lifters taken away car RT-587 of Ghulam Ali from Wah Cannt.
On the other hand, Ahmed Butt lodged a complaint with PS New Town that his Honda 125 motorcycle RIM 9792 was picked up by some robbers whereas Muhammad Nazir told PS Waris Khan officials that unknown muggers stolen his Honda 125 motorcycle from outside his home. A motorcycle RIM 9516 belonged to Saqlain was also lifted from the area of PS Piwadhai. In another incident, four robbers loaded with sophisticated weapons snatched an applied for motorcycle from Shahid Mehmood at Wah Cannt. In the limits of PS Waris Khan, 3 dacoits carrying pistols entered in the shop of Jawad Mukaram and looted Rs 39,000 and 5 mobile phones on gun point. Later, the outlaws fled. A citizen Muhammad Asif told PS Airport officials that four robbers jumped into his house and made the entire family members hostage on gunpoint. Later, the robbers collected Rs 8,00,000 cash and laptop and run away whereas Muhammad Usman lodged a complaint with PS New Town that three unknown burglars stormed into his office and decamped with Rs 1,00,000 cash and 4 mobile phones.
Taking action on the complaints of all victims, police took up the cases and started investigation.
