ISLAMABAD - The Interior Ministry has decided to establish Artist Welfare Fund for the financial support of the poor and deserving artists.

Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior and former interior minister Rehman Malik said that artists have brought good name for the country. He said data of the artists related to Pakistan Television, Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation and film industry would be collected.
Rehman Malik said that artists are very precious property and PTV is the identity of Pakistan which has successfully promoted the message of peace and harmony in the country. He said that Artist Welfare Fund would be established shortly and firstly data of the artist would be collected while funds will be allocated in second phase.
