ECP takes serious notice of remarks against officials

The Election Commission of Pakistan has taken a serious view of a news item titled “DECs in KP ‘least cooperative, transparent’ published in a section of press quoting FAFEN’s report.

It has also come to the notice of Election Commission that certain NGOs unnecessarily intervene in the working of ECP at various matters.
The Election Commission has clarified that ECP is an independent Constitutional body, well aware of its Constitutional mandate, and taking all necessary steps to ensure that election is conducted honestly, justly, fairly and in accordance with law, and that corrupt practices are guarded against.
The Commission has made it clear that while in line with its policy of transparency and openness will continue to interact with all stakeholders, but it will not allow any of its officers or officials to become vulnerable to unnecessary and unwarranted demands.
