Police claim arrest of gang  of dacoits; booty seized

ISLAMABAD - Islamabad Police on Thursday claimed to have arrest a number of outlaws including two dacoits from various areas of the city and recovered snatched as well as stolen valuables worth millions of rupees from their possession.

According a press note issued from the office of SSP Islamabad, a police team headed by SP Muhammad Ishfaq and including SHO Inspector Jasmhed Khan, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Iqbal and ASI Asfar Ali arrested two dacoits including Abdul Qadeer s/o Hasan Ali, resident of Muzafarabad and Amjad Khan s/o Taj Muhammad resident of Mansehra. The police claimed that both dacoits were wanted to police in several incidents of dacoity and theft.
“The accused have confessed to have been involved in various incidents of theft and dacoity. Police team has recovered the stolen property worth of million of rupees from their possession that included electronic equipments, 5 laptops, three mobile phones, Saudi currency worth Rs. 3 million rupees,” a spokesperson of Islamabad police said on Thursday.
Meanwhile, ASI Sohail Akram from Kohsar police station arrested accused Rizwan Ahmad Shahzad involved in theft case and recovered laptop from him while Sub-Inspector Shaukat Ali from Bhara Kau police arrested accused Asif Khan for having 1.10 kg hashish.
Also on Thursday, a team of Ramana police station arrested 20 suspects during search operation and also impounded 16 motorbikes and two cars during checking in its respective area, a police spokesman said on Thursday.
Following the directions of IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan, teams of Ramana police station supervised by ASP Zahida Bukhari conducted search in its area. The search operation was conducted by police teams in various localities including slum areas, under construction buildings, houses, hotels and a total of 20 suspects were arrested who could not produce any document for their identification.
Meanwhile, the Ramana police teams also ensured special checking and impounded 16 motorbikes and two cars.
