Malik directs IGP to enhance Capital security

ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Interior, Senator A. Rehman Malik chaired a high level meeting to review law and order and security situation of Islamabad.

Federal Minister for Interior, Senator A. Rehman Malik reviewed the security situation of the federal capital Islamabad and directed Islamabad Administration and Police to further enhance the security measures taken for the safety and security of the citizens of Islamabad. He directed IGP, ICT to enhance security of Red Zone and red alert for Red Zone should continue in view of serious threat.
He further directed to make fool Proof security arrangements for the important government building located in Red Zone. He said that entry into Red Zone will be allowed only to authorize persons having valid CNIC which will be verified by NADRA on the spot.
The Minister appreciated IG Islamabad and his team for keeping security in Islamabad and further directed to ensure that all guesthouses, hostels and hotels do not allow people without proper verified identity. Entry points of Islamabad must remain covered properly as per the given security SOP. The Minister announced Sitara-e-Shujaat for ASI Sher Muhammad Lilla and Pakistan Police Medal for ASP Rana Tahir Hussain in recognition of their services and bravery in protecting Police Station Tarnol.
