Body on 18th amend to be formed shortly: speaker

Spea ker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza Tuesday said the parliamentary committee to evolve consensus on the 18th amendment in the constitution by involving all the parliamentary parties would be formed within a few days. She informed the Lower House of the Parliament in response to leader of the Opposition Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan's comments about delay in formation of the committee to review some contentious clauses of the 17th amendment. Dr. Mirza said the government wanted to finalize the committee in consultation with all parliamentary party leaders. She said there are 15 political parties of which parliamentary leaders have to be consulted over formation of the committee.
