 Cabinet to approve DCC points today

ISLAMABAD - The Federal Cabinet meeting on Wednesday (today) while discussing host of other matters is most likely to give approval to Defence Committee of Cabinet (DCC) points after thorough deliberations on it.The Cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, discussing eight-point agenda may also be apprised about the relief packages for general public in the upcoming budget (2012-13). According to the Cabinet agenda made available with The Nation, the Cabinet will review the status of implementation of Cabinet decisions pertaining to Water and Power Division. The Cabinet will also be given detailed presentation on Consumer Price Index (CPI).The Cabinet will also give approval to signing of draft MOU for military tech cooperation with general interim committee for defence in Libyan Arab Jamahiriya and Pakistan. Amendment in Federal employees Benevolent fund and group insurance act 1969 will also be reviewed.The Cabinet will give approval in principle on bill to consolidate and enact the law relating to mutual legal assistance in criminal matters. Sources said that the allied party members in the Cabinet meeting would also be taken into confidence regarding the matter of enhanced dialogue with UK.
