Repair of Capital bus stops demanded

ISLAMABAD  - Owing to the negligence of Capital Development Authority (CDA), various bus stops in federal capital are in dilapidated conditions and lack basic facilities, including chairs and benches for commuters.Commuters are forced to wait for buses and minivans while standing on the roadside under severe weather conditions during the summer season due to the absence of sheds on various bus stops. The sheds of the bus stops are either absence or having large holes resultantly the commuters cannot sit inside the bus stops.Although the CDA had constructed many bus stops across the city yet due to its negligence, the commuters could not take advantage from them. The sheds of various bus-stops set-up on different routes, including 105, 120, 111, 124, 136, 21 and 101 are either broken or having holes in them and during the CNG closure days the shortage of public transport vehicles causes rush of commuters on van-stops.  Resultantly the passengers including women, students and old-age citizens have to stay for long under these broken sheds. “Commuters have to wait on the footpath or by standing on the roadside for the transport due to the absence of proper bus-stop or sheds. And in the summer season and after monsoon rains, it becomes very difficult for the commuters to wait in the scorching heat without sheds”, Zaka Ullah, a commuter waiting at Faisal Mor for public transport said.
