ISLAMABAD - Ministry of Housing has decided to conduct an operation against illegal occupants, aimed at ensuring accommodation for deserving government employees in Islamabad. Minister of State for Housing, Malik Nouman Ahmad Langrial, who issued directions in this regard, said the Estate Office would start a major operation against unlawful occupants.
He told media persons on Tuesday that a special team would vigorously perform this task and no more time will be granted to the illegal occupants. Moreover, the Minister said he has also directed to follow the General Waiting List for further allotments under Hardship Committee, which has been asked not to entertain any such matter, which is against the law.
“It is a sort of warning for all those who have received notices to vacate the illegally occupied government accommodations and are not ready to give those places to deserving employees.  The ministry had been dealing this matter with relaxation but now the time has come to take firm action,” he added. The minister also talked about the normalcy of other disputed matters like the continuation of development work in G-14 and Kurri Road and said establishment of Hardship Committee is also an important step which will perform its functions in the light of Supreme Court orders. “We are here to facilitate masses and appease their grievances,” he said and directed his team to appoint special task force which will keep an eye and monitor every step of these projects.
