US Ambassador to Pakistan‚ Richard Olson has said the United States supports only democratic government in Pakistan instead of extending support to any individual.

Talking to newsmen in Islamabad on Friday‚ he said the US did not support any specific political party or person‚ including Chief of Minhaj ul Quran Dr. Tahirul Qadri.
Ambassador Olson further said that the US would like to see free and fair elections in Pakistan.
Commenting on the recent tension between Pakistan and India‚ he said the two countries need to work together for peace in the region and the ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control is encouraging.
Earlier‚ the US envoy met more than one hundred students who have studied in the United States.
He said the United States is working on a comprehensive education programme for the promotion of education in Pakistan.
