Residents question presence of cattle in residential areas

RAWALPINDI - The citizens of Rawalpindi have complained that city administration was conducting surveys instead of taking concrete steps for the removal of buffalo farms situated in congested areas of the city, creating stinking smell and excruciating environment. They said that buffalos were removed from the city about ten years back but some people have brought them back with the connivance of the city administration.

Citizens complained that the concerned officials have been using delaying tactics for the removal of buffalo farms by conducting surveys merely but have failed to take any concrete action in this regard.
They asked the higher authorities to visit the localities where the buffalos are kept in order to judge personally how the residents were living in miserable and unbearable environment in the residential areas.
Akram Burq a resident of 1/10-2, Shaheen Colony, told that the residents have registered complaints with Inquiry Services of civic agency but still they not respond to their hardships. He said resident are facing severe problems due to unavailability of water from last four days while authorities concerned are mum over the situation. He said that this situation forced the locals to shift to other places.
He further added that situation has become so worse as water is not available in mosque for ablution.
Resident also complained that CDA officials are involved in selling the water to Industrial area in sector I-10/3 which causes shortage of water in the whole sector. The residents have appealed to the high ups of the CDA to ensure smooth and uninterrupted supply of water to this sector.
When contacted an official of CDA, said that due to summer season the demand of water has increased in different sectors.
He appealed the residents of capital city to avoid misuse of water and warned strict action in case of violation of CDA instruction.
