RAWALPINDI - Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Imdad Ullah Bosal ordered the owners of all the Cinemas to not play movies during day time to maintain the sanctity of holy month of Ramazan.
He also said that the licences of those cinema houses would be cancelled which found involved running their cinema houses at day time.
The Commissioner also directed the high-ups of district government and the police to beef up security of the mosques, Sasta Ramazan Bazaars, sensitive places, the shrines to avoid any untoward incident during the holy month.
He also emphasized the law enforcers to provide adequate security to the political and religious leaders.
The Commissioner issued these directions at a meeting of Divisional Law and Order Committee here on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Capt. (retd) Muhammad Zubair, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi Saqib Zafar, DCO Chakwal Ahmed Aziz Tarar, DCO Attock Shakeel Ahmed, SSP (Operations) Dr Akhter Abbas, District Police Officers (DPOs) of Chakwal, Jhelum and Attock and Assistant Commissioner Chaudhry Habib Ullah.
Addressing the meeting, the Commissioner Rawalpindi directed DCOs and DPOs of all the districts of the division to enhance security of mosques during Fajr and Taraveeh prayers with the help of volunteers nominated by mosque management.
He also asked the officers to tight security of Sasta Ramzan Bazaars, sensitive places, the shrines run under the Auqaf Department and religious and political leaders.
He said that the Ehtram-e-Ramzan Ordinance should be implemented with its letter and spirit in this holy month.
RPO and all the DPOs briefed the meeting about the arrangements being made in division and their respective districts.
He said that no shopkeeper should be allowed to run his business on the footpaths. Similarly, strict action should also be taken against the encroachers and hand-push-cart owners who disturbed the traffic.
“The parking lots should not be set up near the Ramazan Sasta Bazaar along with the deployment of the police and civil defense personnel. Moreover, walk through gates be installed on sensitive mosques at the timings of Taraveeh and Fajr prayers.
Body sreach of every devotee should be conducted with metal detector” he added.
Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Imdad Ullah Bosal also imposed ban over the misuse of loudspeakers in mosques.
