ISLAMABAD – The Global Dignity Day has been celebrated at Beaconhouse Margalla Campus Islamabad (BMI). BMI students have been celebrating Global Dignity week since October 9 starting with a story writing competition highlighting the topic Humanity, Trust and Service to Mankind.
A poster making competition was also held on October 11. The faculty and students of BMI wore special blue ribbons to mark the importance of the day. In a special assembly presentation, Principal BMI Asif Butt urged the importance of dignity, hard work and respect for everyone as primary teachings of Islam.
On this occasion, Rahat Agha, Academic Head School Group III (SGO III), Asif Butt Principal BMI, Farah Rahat HM BMI G, Naila Sohail HM BMI B and Riffat Arif HM BMI-A were also present.
Asif advised the young scholars that they should treat one another with dignity and respect, live their lives to the fullest and help each other discover and develop their unique gifts stating: “Every person is worthy of respect and can contribute positively to the human community.”
He also administered the oath of Dignity to the pupils. Students gave inspiring speeches and sang beautiful national songs on this occasion mesmerizing the audience. Some senior students presented a documentary ‘Dignity of Labour’ depicting the theme Global Dignity. The purpose was to create awareness about this special day. A tree plantation ceremony was also held as a symbol to make this world a safer and prosperous place for everyone.
