Police to train private security guards

RAWALPINDI – Punjab police will impart training and hold refresher courses to security guards of private security companies to counter terrorism and curb crimes.
Punjab government has issued directives to CPOs and DPOs of all the districts, including Rawalpindi to ensure provision of training including use of arms and refresher courses by police to security guards of private security companies in their respective areas.
Rawalpindi police has asked management of private security companies to send the names of their security guards in connection with training after obtaining clean chit from special branch of the police. Guards will be provided training in use of modern weapons, firing tactics and special refresher courses. A sum of Rs 6,100 has been fixed as fee per security guard.
Training and refresher course duration has been set for 2 weeks. As many as 50 security guards will be imparted training in police lines headquarters after Eid-ul-Azha in Rawalpindi.
