Dacoits have a field day in Pindi

RAWALPINDI – Robbers and dacoits deprived citizens of gold ornaments, cash, mobile phones and other electronic appliances in various strikes in different localities of the city here on Wednesday.
Similarly, auto-theft gang had stolen 8 cars and two motorcycles from the limits of different police stations. According to details, a citizen Feroozon appeared before Police Station (PS) Ratta Amral officials and lodged a complaint that some unknown robbers stormed into his house located at Katchi Abadi and made off with 4 tolas of gold and Rs 50,000 cash.
In the area of PS Westridge, unknown intruders intercepted a woman’s car and snatched jewellery, cash, mobile phone and a laptop at gunpoint. After committing the crime, the robbers managed to escape from the scene.
On the other hand, Toyota Corolla GLI car (VA-495) of Naseer Iqbal, resident of Lalazar, was picked up by vehicle lifters from the limits of PS Morgah and auto-theft gang pilfered one Faisal’s Toyota Corolla car bearing registration number PP-96 and Hamid Raza’s car (908) from the precinct of PS Airport while robbers also picked up cars (KS-204) owned by Abrar Hussain Advocate and Nisar Khan’s car (NWFP-6601) from the limits of PS Westridge.
Shahid Mehmood lodged a complaint with PS New Town that unknown vehicle lifters stolen his car LOX-5466. A pick up van (RIS-2748) of Hamid Mehmood was also got missed from PS New Town area.
Hamza of Workshopi Mohala complained with PS Ganjmandi that his motorcycle (RIK-4743) was lifted by unidentified robbers and Karamat Mehmood informed PS Waris Khan officials that his motorcycle (RIK-5899) was stolen by thieves.
Police, while taking action on the complaints of the victims, filed cases against the robbers and car lifters and launched investigation.
Meanwhile, a speedy dumper crushed a young man to death while injuring two others near FWO Head Office, located in the limits of PS RA Bazaar on wee hours of Wednesday.
According to police, the incident took place at 1:30am when a speedy dumber (5249) hit a motorcycle being driven by three young men. In result, a 23 years old Qaiser Abbas died on the spot while two others Amir Ali and an unknown received injuries. The dumper managed to flee from the scene while Rescue 1122 shifted the injured persons and dead body to District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) for cure and postmortem. A case was registered with PS RA Bazaar against the driver of the dumper, informed police.
