RAWALPINDI – City Traffic Police (CTP) and Pakistan Post are mulling over establishing a Pakistan Post counter in the CTP head office to facilitate the citizens in getting tickets.
According to sources, correspondence was underway between the two institutions in this connection.
Giving details, the source said dozens of people come to the CTP head office situated in Race Course Rawalpindi to get driving licences and learners. The visitors are provided the related forms on the spot while the Punjab government has also appointed doctors in an office in the boundary of the CTP head office for the medical examination of the applicant.
The doctors give a certificate to the applicant on the spot after his/her medical examination. Though the tickets for the payment of the fee fixed by the provincial government are not available in the CTP head office, the sources said, adding the applicants either have to go to General Post Office (GPO) in Saddar or to a post office in Qasim Market, a nearby post office, to get the tickets.
Pakistan Post and CTP are now planning to provide the facility to the applicants inside the CTP head office, the source informed, adding that a Pakistan Post counter would be established in the office.
Expressing their views on the step, members of the social circles of the city said that the provision of the facility in the CTP head office would save the applicants’ time and the process of getting a driving licence would get easier.
