ISLAMABAD – Executive Director, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Prof Dr Mukhtar Ahmed Thursday assured that the HEC will fully support the AIOU in its educational pursuits, especially ensuring quality education and extending academic network across the country.

He gave this assurance to the Vice-Chancellor, AIOU, Prof Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi during his meeting held here. He said that AIOU was playing an important role in providing best quality education to its students. He hoped that the AIOU will establish its linkages with other Universities to further upgrade academic network. The AIOU, he added may undertake joint ventures with other national- level Universities in academic programmes of important nature.
Prof Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi assured him that the AIOU will be exploiting all available resources to provide best possible educational facilities to its students, especially those living in the remote and deprived regions.
The AIOU, he added will be utilising latest technical know-how to make its students capable for competing at international level.
He said that AIOU and other Universities can pool their academic resources for providing the students equal access to the quality education and meeting the requirements of the modern time. The AIOU has already declared the year 2013 as ‘Year of Quality Education’ to meet the national needs.
