Bakshi brothers enthral audience

 ISLAMABAD – Bakshi Brothers, an emerging group of young musicians hailing from traditional musical families enthralled the audience of twin cities here late Thursday in a live concert to celebrate World Music Day.

Institute for Preservation of Art and Culture (IPAC) in collaboration with Kuch Khaas arranged the show in which Bakshi Brothers showed their gripping music features of traditional Sufi, folk and classical songs alongside the use of contemporary instruments in a refreshing style.
The audience termed the show as a brilliant blend of Sufi philosophies and guitar chords.
According to the organizers, World Music Day first took place on June 21, 1976. Since then, it has been a festivity embraced internationally with the slogan Faites de la Musique (Make music).
This year, the federal capital also joined the festivities with some contemporary aged Pakistani music blended with traditions.
Music lovers and those associated with music as a profession celebrated World Music Day across the globe including Pakistan to show respect for all forms of music.
Instrumentalists, singers, composers, ensembles, individual musicians, musicologists and other related to the field of music marked the day with concerts, community events and other programmes to highlight the value of music as part of life.
World Music Day celebrates the magical gift of music as local and amateur musicians are allowed and encouraged to perform their music in public spaces without any restriction in many communities.
The music lovers consider it as a fabulous day to celebrate the spirit of music in all its forms.
