ECP facing no pressure for choosing caretaker PM: secretary

Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan said on Saturday that the commission was not facing any pressure in regard to choose interim prime minister.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has yet to reach a consensus on the name of interim Prime Minister as its Sindh’s member could not attend the meeting, Secretary ECP Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan told the media persons.
Speaking to reporters outside the ECP Office, Khan said that the Election Commission would decide the name of caretaker PM Saturday night or by Sunday.
He said that Roshan Raisani, ECP member from Sindh, was not annoyed and there were no differences between members of the commission.
Khan said that Roshan Raisani was on his way to Islamabad from Karachi.
The ECP Secretary said that ECP would resume its meeting after the arrival of Raisani.
“If the ECP fails to make a decision today, it will definitely announce the caretaker PM’s name tomorrow,” he said.
The Election Commission will make a decision in line with the Constitution without any pressure, he said.
